Kittys Cottage is located just ½ km from the quaint village of Doochary. Doochary is situated at a point where a bridge crosses the Gweebarra River. Licences can be obtained locally to fish this famous river. The village is situated in the heart of West Donegal and is surrounded by rugged mountains, deep glens and numerous lakes – every turn on the road in this beautiful area can unfold a new and stunning landscape.
The area around Kittys Cottage is wonderful walking terrain. A link to Sli na Finne actually passes the front of the cottage. Sli Na Finne is a section of the Bealach na Gaeltachta Waymarked Way and it provides the most beautiful scenery and exhilarating walking imaginable. Sli na Rossan is also in the locality. At nearby Glenveagh National Park roaming deer can be observed in the unspoilt countryside.
